ACTION ALERT!

"Firearm Owners' Civil Rights Restoration Act" - HB 285

HB 285 Restores Freedom/Protects Reciprocity Protects the New Hampshire Way of Life;
Preserves Concealed Carry Reciprocity with other States; Makes Criminals Afraid;
Endorses Self-sufficiency; Gives Life to the N.H. Constitution's Support for Firearms

House Bill 285 is long overdue in New Hampshire. Last year, the Senate passed legislation (SB 454) to end the unnecessary requirement for a concealed carry license. Unfortunately, the House did not enact this bill.

State laws allow for totally open, unconcealed carrying of firearms. But those same laws require a law-abiding person to get a concealed carry license. HB 285 simply gets rid of a useless piece of paper.

HB 285 preserves concealed carry reciprocity with other states, by making our current pistol and revolver license process voluntary. Therefore, anyone who would like to travel and carry in those states with which New Hampshire has reciprocity may still do so! (see: http://www.nh.gov/safety/nhsp/plupr.html for a list of reciprocal states)

Criminals prefer unarmed victims. By promoting concealed carry, HB 285 makes New Hampshire's citizens
and law enforcement personnel safer.
