New Hampshire Firearms Coalition, Inc.

UPDATE -- 2008 RANGE CLOSURE ACT

Your phone calls and emails are working.  Some of the sponsors of HB1474 and HB1476 claim they are "withdrawing their support".  Unfortunately, it is not as simple as that; withdrawn support by a sponsor does not stop a bill.  In New Hampshire, every bill is heard by at least 1 committee and must be voted on by the full house.  What this means is that on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 1:30PM both of these bills will be heard by the MUNICIPAL AND COUNTY GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE.   The committee "may" vote these bills "inexpedient to legislate" or they may vote the bills "ought to pass".  Then, after the committee is finished the bills go to the full house, which, after the November 7, 2006 general election is dominated by anti gun zealots.  The full House then "may" vote these bills "inexpedient to legislate" or they may vote the bills "ought to pass".  These bills can very well take on a life of their own, irrespective of what the politicians who sponsored them may have told you.

Here is what you need to do:

1) If you have not already done so, please call or email Reps. Baldasaro and Bedrick:
Rep. Baldasaro's phone number is 425-6997 and email address is al.baldasaro@leg.state.nh.us

Rep. Bedrick's phone number is 437-2721 and email address is jason.bedrick@leg.state.nh.us

Urge them to make certain that HB1474 and HB1476 are voted "inexpedient to legislate".

2) Call the members of the MUNICIPAL AND COUNTY GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE, go to:
http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/house/committees/committeedetails.aspx?code=H18
for a list of all committee members.  Urge them to vote HB1474 and HB1476 "inexpedient to legislate".

3)   Become a member of NHFC and help preserve our rights.  See:

Thanks for your support.
