Senators trying to blame you for their anti-gun votes

by President on September 6, 2011

I told you just a few days ago that Senators were beginning to buckle under the pressure from the anti-gunners.

Now some Senators are trying to set themselves up to blame you when they vote the wrong way.

It has become even more critical that you contact your Senator today!

Governor Lynch is holding a press conference today to try and bolster support for sustaining his veto on SB 88.

With less than 48 hours notice, over a holiday weekend, some legislators are trying to organize a counter press conference for later in the day.

Unfortunately, political insiders tell me that the purpose of that press conference is not to bolster support for overriding Governor Lynch’s veto of SB 88, but to provide cover for Senators to vote to sustain the Governor’s veto.

You see, some Senators are already saying that if gun owners don’t show up a massive crowd to this press conference, there won’t be enough votes to override the Governor’s veto.

They know that most gun owners will not be able to get off work in time to attend; they want to use a poor turnout as an excuse for not enacting SB 88 and ending the unjust requirement to retreat from an attack.

That is unacceptable.

They want you to waste hours of your day, and lose a day’s pay at work, to attend a meaningless press conference only to use poor attendance as an excuse for stabbing firearms owners in the backs.

You and I need to send a message to the politicians in Concord that that is unacceptable.

I need you to contact your Senator today; tell him that you elected him to represent you.

Tell your Senator that it doesn’t matter how many people show up to the press conference tomorrow, you expect him to do the right thing and vote to overturn the Governor’s veto of SB 88.

If you and I want to see the end of the duty to retreat, I need you to call or email your Senator today.  You and I need to send a message that these political games will not work, that any Senator who does not vote on the record to override the Governor’s veto of SB 88 will be considered a traitor to firearms owners.

Read my last message about about SB 88 to help explain why it is so important to override the Governor’s veto.

SB 88 can still become law, but it is critical you act today!

PS.  Please read the email I sent you a few days ago, explaining why the Governor’s veto of SB 88 needs to be overriden, and call and/or email your Senator immediately, and tell him the games won’t work; you expect him to vote in favor of overriding the Governor’s veto of SB 88 regardless of the outcome of the press conference later today.
