Senate Bill 454 is long overdue in New Hampshire.
Finally, the Senate has passed legislation to end the unnecessary
requirement for a concealed carry license. State laws allow
for totally open, unconcealed carrying of firearms. But those same laws
require a law-abiding person to get a concealed carry license. SB454
does nothing more than get rid of a useless piece of paper .
SB 454 preserves concealed carry reciprocity with other states, by making our current pistol and revolver license process voluntary. Therefore, anyone who would like to travel and carry in those states with which New Hampshire has reciprocity may still do so! See www.nh.gov/safety/nhsp/plupr.html for a list of reciprocal states.
Criminals prefer unarmed victims. SB 454 makes New Hampshire's citizens and law enforcement personnel safer.
