The list of “Off Limits” places is starting…
Senate Bill 471 prohibits the possession of a firearm or ammunition in the “Manchester Airport District.” The bill is dangerously vague. The bill would prohibit a passenger from transporting an unloaded firearm in his checked luggage. If denying your firearm civil rights were not enough, SB-471 also creates a special “Law Enforcement Hierarchy” which is not accountable to “we the people.”
Currently the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department patrols the airport and enforces the law. The existing laws and enforcement system are serving the security needs of the airport well! Laws must be enforced by elected officials, NOT appointed bureaucrats. Government is supposed to serve the people, not be served by the people. If you do not want to become a felon because you picked up a family member or friend at the airport, read on.
1) Call and/or e-mail the Senate Judiciary Committee members and ask them to oppose SB-471.
2) Urge YOUR state senator to kill SB-471 when it reaches the entire senate for a vote. (to find out who your senator is, call your town or city hall or go to http://gencourt.state.nh.us/ie/whosmyleg/ )
